As you level your Death Knight, you may find yourself somewhat conflicted on what glyphs you should be using. So what Death Knight Glyphs are best for Leveling? Ideally, your spec should be Unholy, and that is the premise for this article. Keep in mind though, that other specs will have significantly different glyph make-ups. Read on to see why.
Initial DK Glyphs - As a Death Knight, you start at level 55, are free to roam at 57, and thus have two Prime, Major, and Minor glyph slots available to you.
Prime Glyphs - You definitely want to pick up Glyph of Raise Dead, and Glyph of Scourge Strike. Glyph of Raise Dead gives you a pretty substantial boost to your ghoul, and that makes for some great constant passive DPS. Glyph of Scourge Strike buffs the shadow damage portion of your Scourge strike and since that is magic damage, again, you get an impressive damage boost from it.
Major Glyphs - Here you have a few different choices to make. Glyph of Dark Succor is a must have in my humble opinion. It's one of the best choices you have since the Death Knight is so limited on healing options. The next choices you have are between Pestilence, and Death Grip. Pestilence is probably my preferred glyph due to the fact that I do a LOT of AoE leveling. With the Contagion talent, you will be putting out a LOT of damage. However, Death Grip, paired with the Unholy Command talent, is great for chain pulling. It's ultimately your choice.
Minor Glyphs - You don't have a lot of options here. I would go with Glyph of Resilient Grip. It's good for chain pulling when you can get one mob fast and move on to the next. The other option definitely should be Horn of Winter. It's not as nice as its prior incarnation, but an extended buff timer is definitely not as annoying.
Death Knight Glyphs at Level 75
Prime Glyph - Glyph of Death Coil is a strong choice for your Death Knight Leveling Glyphs. Much of your damage will be coming from Death Coil, so buff it. However, if you plan on doing a lot of AoE leveling (Which I like to) Glyph of Death and Decay is an excellent choice as well. It's hard to go wrong with either one
Major - Here you have a choice. Whichever you did not pick earlier, you can choose between either Glyph of Pestilence, Glyph of Death Grip, or Glyph of Anti-Magic Shell. The first two, I mentioned earlier, but Anti Magic shell is a great skill for survivability, and it's up to you if you think the extra 2 seconds will make the difference for you.
Minor - This last one is very conditional. If you sub-spec into frost (and I highly recommend it) for Lichborne, you can actually pop Lichborne, and use Death Coil on yourself for a fast heal. If this is the case, then your best choice for your final glyph would definitely be Glyph of Death's Embrace. If you have a full bar of runic power, you can pop out 6-7 Death Coils on yourself for some strong healing. If you chose Glyph of Death Coil for your final Prime glyph, this gets buffed.
