The game as it generally is played got its start in 1954 at what time a Canadian couple began playing it forward their yacht with groups of their friends. They enjoyed it to such a degree much that the couple decided to accept a few copies made by a toymaker. In 1956, they contacted Edwin S. Lowe, a toymaker, in regard to producing it for them.
